We all have busy lives and can’t go to the store every time for only one ingredient. So, the less ingredient the cookie has, the better better. Here’s 3 ingredient banana oatmeal cookies.
1.5 cups oatmeal (I used 1/2 cup rolled and 1 cup quick)
2 medium bananas
1/3 cup mini chocolate chips
Let’s Make Banana Oatmeal Cookies
So we start by mashing the bananas. Now, if the bananas are ripe, you will get more sweet taste than the less ripe banana. And if banana is not ripe enough, then the cookie will have more texture to it. It will have more banana crunches, so level of ripeness changes the flavor and texture of the cookie. It’s up to you which one to choose, according to your taste.
Then, we add oatmeal. When it comes to the oats, we have one cup quick oats and 1/2 cup of rolled oats, now, if you want your cookies have more texture, you can switch the measurements, because rolled oats will stay together as flakes, so it will have more texture to it.
Lastly, we add 1/3 cup of chocolate chips. We mix them together and try our best to coat all the oatmeal into the banana. If you have only rolled oats at home you can mix banana and oats and wait for 20 minutes before preparing the cookies. It will have enough time to absorb the moisture from the banana, so the cookies will be more moist.
If you’re not feeling chocolaty, you can always add some other kinds of dried fruits. You can add raisins, you can dried fig, which I was trying for the first time and it was great. And, of course, you can have a bit more cinnamon for taste if you are fond of cinnamon.
So, once you have mixed all your ingredients, you can start by taking a spoonful of mixture and make it into a ball and press it. When you cook it, it won’t expand. So, you don’t need to worry about the spacing.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and put your baking tray into the oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until they are golden.
Let it cool and enjoy your banana oatmeal cookies.
